PE Days

Our timetabled PE days are  Tuesday for indoor PE and Thursday for outdoor. However, please try to ensure that your child’s PE kit is in school every day as these days can be subject to change at short notice.

Homework 

Reading - Children are sent home with a reading book daily. We ask that parents and carers read regularly (ideally daily) with their children. When you read with your child at home please place a note in your child's reading record so they can be rewarded accordingly. Some children may be sent home with additional phonics work when appropriate. 

Phonics - Your child has a daily phonics lesson in school taught using the Read Write Inc phonics scheme. Two phonics books will be sent home every day in their book folder. These need to be returned to school every day in their book folder ready for their phonics lesson. Your child will also have a reading record for you to sign. You should aim to sign your child’s reading record at least 5 times per week so that we know that they have been practising at home. Your child will also choose a library book to share with you at home which will be changed weekly. 

If you have any queries regarding your child's homework or if there is a reason why your child has been unable to complete their homework, please speak with their class teacher in the first instances who will be able to advise and support.
